Biography
İsmail AKKOYUNLU (Asst. Prof. Dr.)
He graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Atatürk University in 2007.
He completed his master's degree in 2011 and his PhD in 2017 at Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, Department of History of Islamic Sects.
(Master’s Thesis Title: “The View of Ibn Taymiyyah towards the Schools of thought in the Matter of Faith”)
(Doctoral Dissertation Title: “Ibn Taymiyya's Refutation to Shia")
Between 2007 and 2011, he worked as a Religious Culture and Ethics Teacher at Hilalkent Primary School in Elazığ-Merkez.
From 2011 to 2017, he served as a Research Assistant in the Department of History of Islamic Sects, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Theology at Ankara University, and from 2017 to 2019, he continued at the same faculty as a Research Assistant with a PhD.
In 2015, he conducted research related to his field and received Arabic language training for four months at the University of Jordan.
In February 2019, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of History of Islamic Sects, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Theology at Ankara Social Sciences University.
